Mission & Vision

“I have come as Light into the world,
so that everyone who believes in Me
will not remain in darkness" - Jesus.

"Go therefore and make disciples..."

The Mission

As God’s visible witness in the world, Wesley Chapel Methodist Church's witness is to be expressed as:

The Church – the public witness of the community of believers who share a common faith and who govern themselves by the Holy Scriptures.
 (Matthew 16:13-19; 18:15-20; 28:18-20)

The Body of Christ – the public witness of the community of believers operating according to God’s design for service in the Body of the Messiah, the family, and the local community.
 (Ephesians 4:11-16; Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

The Priesthood of All Believers – the public witness through the assembling as the community of believers to honor God through worship, prayer, and instruction.
(1 Peter 2:4-10)

The Prophethood of All Believers –the public witness through the enabling presence and leadership of the Holy Spirit in and through the local congregation in outreach to the community through word and deed.
 (Acts 1:4-5, 8; 2:1-4; 16-18)

The Vision

Describing His Disciples as "the light of the world," Wesley Chapel Methodist Church strives to be a beacon of light in our community by equipping, engaging, and empowering our members in active participation and in impactful outreach in Sylacauga and surrounding Communities. Following the example of Jesus Christ, we seek to reach out to the community with compassion, and thereby making tangible differences in the lives of individuals, families, and community. We envision a church recognized for an unwavering commitment to serving Christ and Community, providing faith, hope, and love; impacting all we encounter, so that they, too, will catch the vision leading to positive transformation
in our community.
